Riverview Corridor Study

Riverview Corridor

ENDORSEMENT OF THE MODERN STREETCAR DESIGN  – June 19, 2018

What is the Riverview Corridor?

The Riverview Corridor is defined by the Mississippi River on the south, the river valley bluff on the north, Lowertown and Union Depot on the east, and the Airport and Mall of America on the west.

The Ramsey County Regional Railroad Authority is leading a Pre-Project Development (PPD) Study to research, analyze and identify opportunities to improve transit within the Riverview Corridor. This study is scheduled for completion in late 2015 and will involve reviewing the viability of transit modes, transit location, engineering issues, community needs and preferences, and estimated costs.

The Riverview Corridor Pre-Project Development Study is be guided by a Policy Advisory Committee and a Technical Advisory Committee. Both committees seek and gather public input throughout the process to better understand the transit needs and opportunities for the diverse communities in the corridor.

Initial screening of transit routes and vehicles now available

An executive summary of the initial screening of potential transit routes and vehicle types is posted on the Riverview Corridor website. Tech Memo #5, prepared as part of the Riverview Corridor transit study, summarizes the results of a high-level, qualitative analysis of a large number of potential transit routes and vehicle types.

The Initial Screening document, also called Tech Memo #5, identifies routes and vehicles recommended for more detailed study over the coming months. The Ramsey County Regional Railroad Authority invites you to review the summary report and provide comments. Share your thoughts at one of the community meetings scheduled in January. Or, share your thoughts with the project team by phone or email.
