The public is invited to enjoy a light-hearted evening of laughter on Tuesday, September 25th. The comedic event, KUMBAYA HIGHLAND, features the cast of Twin Cities civics-inspired comedy improv troupe, The Theater of Public Policy (t2p2.net), and examines what’s so funny ‘bout peace, love and understanding our differences in Highland Park.
Hosted by local nonprofit, Friends of Highland Arts (FHA) to demonstrate their commitment to the essential role the arts play in a thriving community, this show is provided at no charge to the community and is sponsored by area businesses and organizations.
Held at the newly upgraded Summit Brlewery Taproom, the doors will open at 6:30 PM, and the show begins around 7PM. Beer and root beer are available for purchase. Food Trucks will be on site.
Last year more than 130 neighbors enjoyed the improv show HIGHLARIUS HIGHLAND, and FHA anticipates an even larger audience this year. KUMBAYA HIGHLAND is also a participating event of the program “10 Days Free from Violence” in the Twin Cities. twincitiesnonviolent.org.
Join the fun as we are reminded about what makes our neighborhood a special place to live, and most often that’s the people in it. People will have differences, which makes a neighborhood interesting, interactive and fun. This, and learning to live with our urban coyotes, is the stuff of humor.
Co-sponsored by the Highland District Council.
